A 30-year veteran of the insurance industry, Allen will lead the firm’s national commercial insurance division
TAMPA, FL (March 24, 2022) – Franklin Street, a full-service commercial real estate and insurance services firm, has welcomed Robert W. Allen, ARM, as President of its Insurance Services division. Allen, who brings over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, will focus on leveraging Franklin Street’s collaborative platform to provide integrated insurance solutions for commercial real estate owners, developers and managers.
Allen joins Franklin Street following a record year for the firm, which achieved nearly 50% organic revenue growth and $1.5 billion in total transaction volume in 2021. One of Franklin Street’s largest business lines, the Insurance Services division grew by over 25% last year, achieving record revenue, earnings, new business wins and renewals.

In his day-to-day, Allen will oversee a national team that provides the full spectrum of commercial insurance service offerings including program design, market placement, portfolio administration, lender compliance, risk management and claims advocacy.

Allen began his career as an insurance broker in South Florida in 1988, with a company that would eventually become Marsh, one of the world’s largest insurance brokerage and risk management firms. Later, he spent 25 years with Willis, another leading firm, where he held a number of leadership roles throughout the Southeast, including Managing Partner of its Tampa office, where he helped lead that firm’s exponential growth.
Following his success in Tampa, he was promoted to a regional role managing several offices in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. In 2015, he was named President & CEO of Willis Towers Watson’s Atlanta division, where he turned a shrinking organization into a leading growth office in just three years.
In 2019, Mr. Allen joined USI, where he served as a practice leader in the company’s property and casualty division. While in that role, he focused on growing complex accounts, coaching brokers and recruiting top talent.
