Two shuttered restaurants in the Orchid Bay shopping center on International Drive have inked new tenants set to bring new-to-Orlando food concepts to the popular tourism corridor.
A former Golden Corral is transforming into a new concept after its former operator emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, and, separately, a former Cici’s Pizza in the shopping center will turn into a new restaurant.
The 11,600-square-foot space that previously housed a Golden Corral at 11701 International Drive — a massive space for a restaurant — will become a marketplace for Asian cuisine, Orlando Business Journal has learned. A name hasn’t been decided, but the marketplace will have multiple operators and a full bar under one roof.
Franklin Street’s Terrence Hart and Katy Taylor represented the landlord in the deal. A representative with the concept wasn’t available for comment. The concept is expected to open before the end of the year. Jay Wong of Rockville, Maryland-based Lionstrong LLC, who represents the tenant, wasn’t available for comment. The tenant’s entity name is Zhejiang Donrong-North America LLC.
The concept is similar to East End Market, a neighborhood market and food hall in Audubon Park at 3201 Corrine Drive in Orlando.
“They will be a draw to this center,” Taylor said.
