Franklin Street Expands Northeast Florida Team for Industrial and Capital Advisory Markets

Team continues expansion as a full-service commercial real estate firm

JACKSONVILLE, FL, (April 1, 2022) – Franklin Street has expanded its Jacksonville office to better serve clients with the addition of an industrial-focused director, a senior associate for investment sales and leasing, and a senior associate on Franklin Street’s capital markets advisory team. Mike Salik, CCIM has joined the team as director of industrial sales and leasing, Nate Bjorklund has joined as senior associate for industrial investment sales, and Keith Wood, MBA is a senior associate on Franklin Street’s capital advisory team.

Salik most recently served as a commercial investment broker with Coldwell Banker Commercial in St. Augustine. He has more than 25 years of real estate acquisition and disposition experience including 22 years of combined federal service between active duty and civilian service with the Navy and Department of Agriculture. At Franklin Street, his primary focus is industrial investment sales and leasing, along with land acquisition, development, and buildout for industrial owners and tenants.

While serving, Salik led the privatization of more than 5,000 military homes at NAS Jax, NS Mayport and NS Kings Bay. He was also instrumental in property acquisition, expansions and modernization at bases across the Southeast that included acquiring more than 40,000 acres of federal property. While at Dept. of Agriculture, Salik held positions as a GSA lease contracting officer. Salik studied Aeronautical Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University while earning both his masters and bachelor’s degrees. Salik earned the coveted CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation for commercial real estate professional in May 2021.

Bjorklund has more than 22 years of experience in commercial real estate. He was most recently a commercial real estate agent at Coldwell Banker Commercial in St. Augustine, where he focused on industrial properties. Prior to working at Coldwell Banker Commercial, he was a Director at KW Commercial, and a partner at Lund Commercial Real Estate, in Denver. While in Denver, he was an integral part of the largest industrial portfolio sale in Colorado history, totaling over $200 Million. He also served as a professor and real estate program director at the University of Nebraska.

Bjorklund earned an MBA and bachelor’s degrees in economics and real estate at the University of Nebraska. In his position at Franklin Street he will represent owners, users and developers of industrial property from investment sales to leasing to site selection for new developments. He is focused on growing the firm’s industrial real estate business across Jacksonville and the Southeast.

Wood most recently served as business development officer in commercial services at Stewart Title Guaranty in Jacksonville and Boston where he worked nationally with attorneys, developers, and institutional funds. He has more than 15 years of experience in real estate across Northeast Florida and the Southeast. In his new role at Franklin Street, he will support the growing capital markets and investment sales team led by Laura Gonzales, regional managing director and capital advisory director. He will also manage debt and equity transactions nationwide.

Wood also served as an investment analyst for Coventry Development Corporation in New York City focusing on financial projections and leasing analysis for multi-billion-dollar master planned developments in Houston, Denver, and Hobe Sound, Florida. Wood earned an MBA in the Global MBA program at University of North Florida. He also earned a Master of Arts degree with a concentration in intercultural communication and international management from Cologne University of Applied Sciences.
