As Chief Operating Officer, Tony DeSisto is responsible for the strategic operations of each of Franklin Street’s seven offices. He also plays a significant role in the planning and execution of corporate initiatives, such as the firm’s national expansion strategy and the recruitment and development of top talent.
Before becoming COO in 2022, Mr. DeSisto served as Franklin Street’s VP of Operations and Senior Counsel. Today, he continues to employ his extensive legal background by guiding the company’s overall legal framework, and advising all lines of business on litigation, contract review and negotiation and various other matters. He was also instrumental in launching Franklin Street’s Data & Research department, which produces industry-leading market research and reports.
Prior to joining Franklin Street in 2019, Mr. DeSisto managed his own solo law practice where he worked with small businesses. In 2012, he co-founded the software company Citizinvestor, the first online crowdfunding platform dedicated solely to public and community infrastructure projects. An experienced entrepreneur, he also previously owned and operated four fast-casual restaurants in the Tampa Bay area. This diverse background allows Mr. DeSisto to bring strong skills in negotiation, investment strategy, corporate acquisitions and asset sales to his position with Franklin Street.
Mr. DeSisto has been actively involved with numerous boards and committees for state and local government. He has served on the Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors, as the Vice Chairman of the City of Tampa’s Citizen Advisory Budget Committee, and as a Commissioner for the Florida State Boxing Commission. He lives in South Tampa with his wife Courtney and their five children.
EDUCATION
Mr. DeSisto received his Juris Doctorate from Stetson University and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Bates College.
