TSC offers associate degrees, workforce/career programs, transfer pathways, dual enrollment, and a growing number of bachelor’s programs, including education, business, and nursing. The school markets itself around affordability, smaller classes, career training, and transfer access to nearby universities like Florida State University and Florida A&M University. As part of the Florida College System (a system of 28 public community colleges and state colleges in Florida), Tallahassee State College benefits from statewide funding, coordinated academic pathways, and strong transfer relationships with Florida’s public universities. This gives students an affordable route to a four-year degree while allowing TSC to align programs closely with statewide workforce needs. TSC is the #1 transfer school to Florida State University, and runs the Aspire TSC2FSU program, a formal partnership designed for students to earn an A.A. degree at TSC and then transfer to FSU for a bachelor’s degree. It is not the same as automatic admission into every FSU major, especially for limited-access programs, but Florida’s 2+2 system generally guarantees A.A. graduates from Florida College System schools admission to one of Florida’s public universities. TSC’s FSU partnership makes it one of the clearest and most common local routes into Florida State. Tallahassee State College does not have on-campus housing. Instead students live in off-campus student housing communities or commute. Other notable universities in the area include Florida State University and Florida A&M University. Florida State saw a 4.1% enrollment increase for AY 2025-26 to 46,184 students. It received over 70,000 applications and has an acceptance rate of only 22%.
