Akerman LLP, a law firm that specializes in transactions and trial law, is relocating its office to a larger space in lower downtown.
The firm, which is headquartered in Miami, Florida, is moving from its current location at 1400 Wewatta St, where it has 14,658 square feet of office space. It will take 23,762 square feet on the top floor of the 1900 16th Street building, according to Franklin Street, the commercial real estate company that helped broker the deal.
The new space will allow the firm to grow from 13 to 25 lawyers and patent professionals. Akerman will assume the lease on July 1 and move in by the end of the year when its current lease expires.
The additional space gives the firm the flexibility to grow and provides more collaborative space.
“This move represents our commitment to the Denver market, and we are proud to be surrounded by an urban environment that reflects Akerman’s entrepreneurial spirit,” said Justin Balser, Akerman’s Denver office managing partner.
