A new Publix in the Plaza at Normandy was issued a permit by Duval County on Tuesday.
Atlanta-based Benning Construction Co. received the $3.5 million permit for the development of a 47,240-square-foot Publix store. Additionally, they will be building a 9,800-square-foot retail shell building for future tenants, with a projected cost of $901,600.
The Plaza at Normandy, located at the intersection of northwest Normandy Boulevard and Chaffee Road, began development in August 2022, according to permits with the city,
Franklin Street is representing the Plaza’s remaining outparcels, according to a listing on Loopnet.
A liquor store, Encore Nails, AT&T and UPS have 1,400-square-foot locations next to the Publix. Xtreme wings is leasing the larger property at 4,200 square feet. There is one available 1,400-square-foot parcel available for lease, according to Franklin Street’s marketing material. There are also two buildings located near the street that tentatively will house a fast food restaurant and a convenience store.
