An insurance brokerage has doubled its office space in Westshore, taking more than 60,000 square feet in a tower near International Plaza.

Baldwin Krystyn Sherman Partners signed a lease for two floors or 61,598 square feet at Corporate Center II, a 10-story tower at 4201 W. Boy Scout Blvd. The company will leave the less than 30,000 square feet it leased at One Metro Center, which is at Met West International, a mixed-use development across the street from the Corporate Center buildings.

“After expanding our footprint across the sunbelt in 2018, we are thrilled to reaffirm our roots and commitment to the Tampa Bay area,” BKS President Trevor Baldwin said in a statement. “The unique solutions this space offers will allow us to further grow BKS with the best and brightest talent.”

Chris Butler, managing director for Franklin Street’s office and industrial divisions, and Ryan McCurdy, senior associate, represented BKS in the transaction. JLL’s Ron Ruffner and Clay Sovich represented landlord Cousins Properties Inc. in the deal.

“The Westshore business district remains hot with rental rates rising and vacancy rates continuing to decrease,” Butler said in a statement. “As the market continues to tighten, it is critical for tenants to creatively structure solutions in order to effectively capture immediate and long-term needs.”
