Franklin Street, a full-service commercial real estate firm, announces the hiring of Melissa DePalma as Vice President of Finance and Accounting. Ms. DePalma will work in the firm’s Tampa, FL headquarters and report to the Chief Financial Officer, Will Sadlowski. Ms. DePalma comes to Franklin Street with more than 25 years of accounting management, auditing and compliance experience in commercial real estate.
In this role, Ms. DePalma will be responsible for leading Franklin Street’s finance and accounting services, including systems, employee management, and financial reporting. As Vice President, she will direct all aspects of Franklin Street’s accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, and financial reporting. Ms. DePalma’s responsibilities include developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems for accuracy and compliance, as well assisting senior management in financial planning and results management.
Prior to joining Franklin Street, Ms. DePalma served as Compliance Director at Cushman and Wakefield, where she oversaw the firm’s national compliance program for Corporate Occupier and Asset Services for more than 3,000 employees; comprised of a 300 million-square-foot portfolio representing lease administration and property, facilities, project, and transaction management. She also held varying leadership roles in accounting management and compliance for the firm.

Along with her work with Franklin Street, Ms. DePalma is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Psychology from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration from New York University.
