Franklin Street Arranges 20K-SF Lease for Planet Fitness at Brookwood Marketplace in Johns Creek, Georgia, as Gym Expands Footprint

Franklin Street represents Alder Partners in Atlanta as club expands – this is the 26th Planet Fitness location for Alder in metro Atlanta and fifth opening since 2020

ATLANTA (April 8, 2022) – Alder Partners has signed a lease in Johns Creek, Georgia, at Brookwood Marketplace to open a new Planet Fitness franchise location, marking its fifth opening since 2020 as they continue to expand the brand across metro Atlanta. The 20,000-square foot fitness club will be located in one of metro Atlanta’s most popular communities. The club is scheduled to open in April 2022.

Greg Eisenman, Senior Director of Retail Tenant Services for Franklin Street, helped secure the lease on behalf of the tenant, Alder Partners, a franchise of Planet Fitness. Last summer, Eisenman and Franklin Street’s Retail Tenant Representation Team were chosen by the club’s primary Atlanta development partner to find new locations to expand across its metro Atlanta territory.

Alder Partners, a franchise of Planet Fitness, has 25 open locations in the state and is looking to add multiple locations each year.

Eisenman worked alongside Josh Wulz of Skyline Seven Properties, who represented the landlord, to complete the transaction. “Josh is always a pleasure to work with, and we greatly appreciate his professionalism and expertise in helping complete this deal,” added Eisenman.

Planet Fitness has been a household name in fitness in Atlanta since 2011. As one of the fastest-growing name in fitness, it has continued to offer affordable memberships and state of the art equipment.

Brookwood Marketplace is a power center sporting big box tenants like Super Target and The Home Depot, health and wellness tenants like Palm Beach Tan, Orange Theory, Massage Envy and nail salons as well as restaurant favorites Taco Mac, Your Pie Pizza and Starbucks. 

Alder Partners has opened four new clubs since the onset of the pandemic in 2020. The new locations are at 3503 Memorial Drive in Atlanta’s Belvedere Park, 1599 Memorial Drive SE in Atlanta’s Kirkwood neighborhood, 2800 East Atlanta Road in Ellenwood, and 6152 Covington Highway in Lithonia’s Covington Square.

Planet Fitness gyms have state-of-the-art cardio machines and strength equipment, a 30-Minute Express Circuit, flat-screen televisions throughout, fully equipped granite locker rooms with day lockers, showers, plus an exclusive Black Card®Spa area that includes tanning, massage chairs and HydroMassage beds for Black Card® Members.

Enhanced COVID-19 safety and sanitization protocols at its well-ventilated and spacious clubs include:

  • Touchless check-in via the free Planet Fitness App
  • A Crowd Meter on the Planet Fitness App that allows members to check club capacity in real-time before even leaving the house
  • Increased sanitization to continually clean and sanitize high-touch areas, with cleaning stations available for member use
  • Mask policies in accordance with local guidelines
