Michael Battey is a retail expert specializing in landlord and tenant leasing throughout Central Florida. As Director of Retail Leasing with Franklin Street in Orlando, Mr. Battey is focused on helping owners of shopping centers and other retail assets maximize the value of their investment with high quality tenants. He also represents retail users in securing commercial space that aligns with their real estate strategy and business goals.

With 15 years of experience working in the Central Florida retail market, Mr. Battey brings extensive market knowledge, sharp negotiation skills and valuable relationships to the Franklin Street team.

He began his commercial real estate career with CBRE in 2006, where he worked with major retailers such as Five Guys, Countrywide Home Mortgage, Charles Schwab and 7-Eleven. He has also worked with regional and institutional owners and developers such as TIAA CREF, TC Met and Invesco. Additionally, Mr. Battey has represented a number of financial institutions on both the buyer and seller side, such as RBC Centura, PNC Bank, Regions/Amsouth Bank, Centerstate Bank, BB&T and TD Bank. In addition to leasing, he also specializes in Partial Asset Dispositions (PAD) assignments.

After 10+ years with CBRE, Mr. Battey joined Harbert Realty Services as Director of Retail Leasing and Sales for Central Florida, where he helped build the company’s brand as a full-service commercial satellite office in Orlando. He joined Franklin Street in June 2021.
