Franklin Street has hired Darrah Winkler as Marketing and Events Manager for Channelside Bay Plaza. In this role, Winkler will be responsible for the development and implementation of Channelside Bay Plaza’s special event and marketing programs by promoting its brand in the community.  Franklin Street is responsible for the management and leasing of the property owned by CBP Development, LLC.

“This is great opportunity for the Channelside district and Channelside Bay Plaza to bring together all of its moving parts for the common good of the local community and all of downtown Tampa,” said Winkler.

Prior to joining Franklin Street, Winkler was an Events Manager with the Tampa Bay Business Journal, arranging more than 40 events each year. Her diverse marketing background ranges from local marketing campaigns to working with national restaurant chains like Hooters of America, LLC. She has nearly a decade of experience creating and executing successful marketing plans and advertising campaigns as well as a depth of experience managing special events and promotions.

“Marketing and Event Manager is a newly created position that has never existed at Channelside Bay Plaza. Darrah is filling an invaluable role that will help revitalize this already growing district,” said Andrew Wright, Franklin Street CEO and managing partner. “Her unmatched energy and enthusiasm, and well-rounded marketing and event experience, makes her the right person for this job.  We believe it’s a perfect match and know Darrah will serve as an incredible asset to the district.”

One initial objective Winkler has planned for Channelside includes creating a master events calendar, which will be published online and would include all of the upcoming events for the district entities. Winkler noted that much importance is being placed on establishing a sense of community and reinvigorating the area.

Channelside Bay Plaza was once a thriving retail and entertainment center and we know it will be even better this time around,” said Winkler. “Our goal is to pump new life into the property and create an amazing experience for both residents and tourists alike.”

Winkler received dual bachelor’s degrees from the University of Central Florida in Communications and Psychology.
