Franklin Street Real Estate Services has added retail expert Cammi Goldberg as director of leasing and landlord representation to its South Florida office.
Goldberg has more than 15 years of experience in the shopping center industry, specializing in leasing space for property owners.
Greg Matus, who joined Franklin Street last month as regional managing partner for Franklin Street’s South Florida offices, says Goldberg’s experience in commercial real estate in Florida and the Southeast U.S. is key to helping the company grow its new retail practice in South Florida.
“Cammi’s knowledge of the Florida retail market combined with her strong list of contacts and industry leadership, make her a valuable resource to retail property owners in South Florida,” said Matus. “In addition, her energy and enthusiasm make her a perfect addition to the Franklin Street team.”
Prior to joining Franklin Street, Goldberg was a commercial leasing manager for RAM Realty Services. There, she specialized in shopping center leasing for landlord-owned, value-add assets, ground-up developments, and mixed-use projects throughout Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. While in this role, she negotiated leases with several national, regional, and local retail and restaurant tenants.
“I’m extremely pleased to join Franklin Street and be on the ground floor of building a retail practice in South Florida,” said Goldberg. “I believe we have a great value proposition in the market since we can offer clients additional services including retail investment sales, tenant representation, debt placement and even property management and insurance.“
Goldberg said medical clinics, niche health and fitness clubs, and high-end luxury boutiques are helping to drive new leases from Miami north to Palm Beach County.
“The South Florida retail market has made a big comeback,” said Goldberg. “You’re seeing fewer vacancies and more redevelopment. However, we are probably the most competitive market in the state, which means owners need to be smart and aggressive and able to think out of the box to get deals done. Our team has the experience necessary to help them be successful.”
Goldberg is actively involved in several commercial real estate organizations including Commercial Real Estate for Women’s (CREW) Miami chapter, Retail Bus Tour, and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). Additionally, she has served on ICSC committees in South Florida and Orlando. Currently, she is heading the Commercial Real Estate Book Club, a monthly conference call where industry leaders feature their favorite books relevant for commercial real estate dealmakers.
