Commercial real estate heavy-hitter Greg Matus has joined Franklin Street, a full-service commercial real estate firm based in Tampa, as regional managing partner. He specializes in retail investment sales and will focus on the Broward and Palm Beach Counties in South Florida. Prior to joining Franklin Street, Matus ran Marcus & Millichap’s Fort Lauderdale office as the vice president/regional manager of the company’s Real Estate Investment Services division. Over the next six months, Matus will focus on opening a new office in the Fort Lauderdale market, adding a team of agents specializing in retail tenant and landlord representation, and growing Franklin Street‘s retail investment sales team. Matus said Broward and Palm Counties are ripe for retail. Matus has been involved in thousands of transactions over his career valued at more than $3 billion. He has expertise, not only in retail, but also in the multifamily, hospitality, office and industrial sectors. He spent more than a decade at Marcus & MIllichap in various roles. In addition to his position as vice president/regional manager of the Fort Lauderdale office, he also held that same position in Orlando, was a first vice president of investments, senior associate and director of the national retail group and multifamily housing group. He was named a Top Agent 10 Agent in Fort Lauderdale in 2005 and received multiple Marcus & Millichap’s National Achievement Awards.
