Outdoor sporting goods chain Cabela’s Inc. continues to target Georgia for new stores.
Nebraska-based Cabela’s (NYSE: CAB) announced Feb. 13 plans to open a third store in Georgia. The 70,000-square-foot store will be located in Fort Oglethorpe, off Interstate 75 near the border of Tennessee. It will serve the Chattanooga market, according to the company.
The new store should open in 2015, taking a space in a development anchored by Costco.
In April 2012, Atlanta Business Chronicle first reported Cabela’s was scouting the Southeast, and especially Georgia, when the company said the “constraints were off” its expansion into new markets.
Last July, the retailer announced plans to open its first two Georgia stores.
A roughly 42,000-square-foot store is set to open this March in Augusta.
A 100,000-sqaure-foot store would open in August in Acworth.
