Katy Figg, 32 | Director of Real Estate Services, Franklin Street
Katy Figg did what few brokers at Franklin Street real estate services have done.
After serving as an associate, she was promoted to director of real estate services and became one of the few Franklin Street brokers who accomplished that before the age 40. The promotion is based on transaction numbers.
Figg started at Franklin Street in January 2014 and had four years of real estate experience in Charlotte, N.C.
“When I was in Charlotte, I worked with one of the retail tenant reps,” Figg said. “She taught me how to network, how to create and maintain relationships and how to make contacts. I’ve had incredible mentors.”
Figg specializes in retail tenants and landlords. She still has contacts in Charlotte and was able to attract three Carolina-based retail concepts to open in the Jacksonville area. Being familiar with the brand and the concept of companies in Charlotte helped her. In 2015, her team leased more than 145,000 square feet of retail at a value of more than $20 million.
Franklin Street is involved in community outreach, primarily with the Daniel Kids Foundation, a charity that helps young people, and Figg is involved in the events.
“It’s important to be involved in the community and be able to understand the people around you – what they need and how you can help,” she said.
