A veteran of Atlanta’s multifamily real estate market, John McCalla brings over 20 years of experience to his role as leader of Franklin Street’s Atlanta-based Multifamily Investment Sales Team. With his team, Mr. McCalla skillfully guides multifamily owners and investors through the acquisition and disposition of all types of multifamily properties throughout Atlanta and the Southeast. As Managing Director, he is also focused on growing the firm’s market share and leveraging its full-service multifamily platform on behalf of his clients.
Mr. McCalla began his commercial real estate career in 2006 with Marcus & Millichap, where he developed a strong foundation in Atlanta’s multifamily market. In 2010, he joined Berkadia as a founding member of the firm’s Atlanta office and quickly emerged as a top producer. He later returned to Marcus & Millichap to grow his team, and in 2021 was awarded with the firm’s top broker honor, the Circle of Excellence award.
In 2021, the McCalla group sold over 6,928 units totaling $674 million in total transaction volume. They joined Franklin Street in January 2023, where they have continued their high standard for excellence and strong commitment to client service.
When Mr. McCalla isn’t closing deals, you can find him on the water sailing, running marathons with his wife or cheering on his two athletic daughters in their extracurricular activities.
