Hours before the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur started on Sept. 15, the developer of a kosher hotel in Hollywood obtained a $10.2 million construction loan to move the project forward.
Orlando-based Fairwinds Credit Union provided the loan to Kosher House LLLP, managed by Sharon Sharaby of BSD Capital in Hollywood. The loan was arranged by Casey Crane of Franklin Street, who said the hotel would be completed by the end of 2022.
County records show the developer signed a 99-year ground lease for the 2-acre site at 5530 S. State Road 7 in March. Hollywood-based Prime Construction Corp. recently filed notice with the county that it started construction on the project.
While there are many rooms and restaurants at the Seminole Hard Rock, none of them cater to Jewish clients who keep kosher dietary restrictions and observe Shabbat, when religious Jews don’t operate electronics.

The 100-room hotel will have a rooftop pool, a kosher restaurant and a Shabbat elevator that automatically stops on every floor.
