Franklin Street is currently seeking an Insurance Sales Associate to join our Insurance Team in Tampa, FL.
Position Overview:
The Insurance Sales Associate role includes a training program to develop the needed skills for a Sales Associate position. The Insurance Associate will be self-motivated, assertive, committed, and have an entrepreneurial mindset. The program will allow the Associate to learn the basics of the commercial insurance industry, commercial real estate industry, Franklin Street’s platform, sales skills and obtain required licensing to perform a sales professional role.
Sales Initiation Responsibilities
- Observe senior producers while they are making calls to listen, learn, and assist them in the note taking and follow up process based on call outcome.
- Conduct outreach sales calls to prospects in Frankie based on direction provided by management and senior producers on team.
- Become proficient in Franklin Street’s system of record for all deals and prospects, Frankie.
- Become proficient in researching and databasing all companies and key people in Target Markets.
- Scrub and update dynamic fields for companies currently existing in Frankie that are in Target Markets including contact information for all key people.
- Track sales initiation coverage of “target market” and present to sales team to discuss strategies to improve and increase.
- Achieve measurable expectations established by management for various sales initiation tasks and activities as assigned.
Sales Conversion Responsibilities
- Manage your own pipeline, keeping them up to date and accurate in Frankie.
- Organize, analyze, and summarize deal information that is received from prospects on new business.
- Create presentations and proposals for prospects.
- Create pertinent submission documents for placement in the insurance marketplace including Statement of Values, Loss Summaries, and Coverage Specs.
- Create Estimates for clients and prospects on new assets they are underwriting for acquisitions.
- Achieve measurable expectations established by management for various sales conversion tasks and activities as assigned.
Sales Retention Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting sales retention activities.
- Order loss runs
- Create proposals
- Create loss summaries
- Review and follow-upon quotes
- Send renewal submissions
- Create client invoices
- Achieve measurable expectations established by management for various sales retention tasks and activities as assigned.
Requirements:
- Two or more years of commercial insurance work experience; commissioned sales and customer service as an insurance agent, and/or experience in real estate is preferred.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze and interpret complex business documents, detailed financial summaries, and multi-tiered insurance models is preferred.
- Demonstrated business development, cultivation, and relationship management skills with ability to identify customer needs and effectively communicate, position, negotiate, and drive sales solutions.
- High level of proficiency in computer skills including MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and internet / application software is required, along with a willingness and ability to learn new software programs.
- Experience working with databases a plus.
- Ability to understand basic real estate concepts for all major property types including ability to achieve a strong grasp of financial terms and principles necessary in real estate underwriting (IRR, NPV, Return on Equity, etc.)
- Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university preferred. A degree in sales, insurance/risk management, business, management, marketing, or Real Estate preferred.
- An active insurance sales license is required as applicable by state (In Florida, an active 2-20 license is required) or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
