The Young Leaders/Developing Leaders of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW Orlando), the Commercial Real Estate Development Association (NAIOP Central Florida), and Urban Land Institute (ULI Central Florida) hosted their annual leadership and mentoring program on Thursday, Sept. 28th at East End Market in downtown Orlando.
The “Visionaries of Central Florida” event provided a unique opportunity for young professionals in commercial real estate and community development to interact and learn from the most respected business and community leaders in Central Florida. Attendees participated in a series of one-on-one, roundtable discussions with influential local leaders.
Young professionals received valuable advice and learned about the field of expertise of each visionary and how their vision is formed and influenced by the millennial generation. The range of career fields represented at the event included urban planning and development, finance, brokerage, sports and entertainment, communications, law, architecture, design, city management and government.
“This is the fifth year our organizations have collaborated to put on this event and it’s one we really look forward to every year. It’s such a unique opportunity for our younger cohort to get face time and open dialogue with some of the thought leaders and influential role models of the community, all in a matter of a couple hours,” said Jordan Wean, Chair of NAIOP’s Developing Leaders group and Director of Investment Sales at Franklin Street.
“This year’s event was truly amazing. We are grateful to our organizations, sponsors and most of all our Visionaries,” said Zac Starkey, Chair of ULI’s Young Leaders group and Broker Associate with Emerson International. “Such candid one-on-one access to the most incredible business leaders in our community is unprecedented. Without their donation of time and insight this event is impossible. We continue to be thankful for each Visionary’s investment in the next generation of leaders by supporting our annual event.”
