Manny’s Chophouse, rolled ice cream headed to Baldwin Park

Franklin Street arranged a lease for Manny’s Original Chophouse at Baldwin Park, one of Orlando’s most affluent neighborhoods.

Campy steakhouse Manny’s Original Chophouse will be headed to Baldwin Park, one of Orlando’s swankiest neighborhoods.

Manny’s signed a deal to take the former Lago’s Restaurant in the district’s main square, said broker Terrence Hart of Franklin Street, who negotiated the deal for the landlord.

Manny’s is known for its road trip-themed decor, and its meat. It has a big menu of steaks, ribs, seafood, chicken and burgers. Manny’s is based in Haines City and has six restaurants in Polk and Osceola Counties.

The 7,384-square-foot Lago at Baldwin Park closed in 2012, along with a wave of other retailers and restaurants that struggled in the upscale housing district.

The address for the upcoming Manny’s Chophouse is 4979 New Broad St., Orlando.

But a new slate of restaurants, retailers and service businesses are giving new hope.

Colibri Mexican restaurant is opening a new craft cocktail bar called “The Nest” next door this spring, Tutto Cafe has plans to open later this month in a 1,529 square foot spot and Mezza Mediterranean Grill plans to open in April.

Hart said there is also a gourmet popcorn shop opening in May and a shop called I CE NY Original Rolled and Smashed Ice Cream.
