New tenant joins the mix at Channelside Bay Plaza

Hablo Taco, a 6,000-square-foot tequila and taco lounge, is coming to Channelside Bay Plaza, a shopping and entertainment destination located at 615 Channelside Drive in Tampa. Hablo Taco will feature fresh ingredients and bold flavors, as well as premium margaritas, ice-cold beer, and mucho tequilas at the restaurant’s 50-foot exterior bar.Franklin Street oversees leasing and management at the center.

“As we continue to build on the momentum of the Channelside district, we felt it was the perfect new restaurant concept to bring to the area,” says Andrew Wright, CEO and managing partner of Franklin Street. “The opening of Hablo Taco serves as an immediate initial step towards realizing our overall vision for the Channelside Bay Plaza and shows the commitment of the new ownership.”

CBP Development, an affiliate of SPP, has partnered with Millennium Management Group, Inc. to fund the project, again showing the investment group’s dedication to Channelside Bay Plaza and the entire district.

Hablo Taco will be hosting multiple events during their soft-opening week. The fiesta gets started on Jan. 28with a Sneak Peek VIP Partyfor Channelside residents as well as winners from their Facebook contest. The general public is invited to like Hablo Taco’s page for a chance to attend the Sneak Peek VIP Party.

The official ribbon cutting will occur on Jan. 29 at 5 p.m. with Mayor Bob Buckhorn and Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinikbefore the Tampa Bay Lightning takes on the Detroit Red Wings at Amalie Arena.

Hablo Taco invites the general public to join them on Feb. 4for the Grand Opening.

Mark Gibson and Guy Revelle of Millennium Management Group, Inc. created the new restaurant concept. “Hablo Tacowill cater to the almost 6,500 persons living in downtown and the Channelside District,” Revelle said. “It will have an organic Tampa vibe that will be a great neighborhood oasis in the middle of downtown.”

The partnership opened two of the original tenants at the center in 2001 – Stump’s Supper Club and Howl at the Moon – and subsequently opened Splitsville Luxury Lanes, Tinatapa’s and The Boathouse.

“We’ve had great success in the past with our other concepts atChannelside, and we look forward to launching Hablo Taco as part ofthe new direction of the center,” Gibson said. “It’s exciting to be a part of the next generation of downtown Tampa.”
