Franklin Street, the exclusive tenant representative for Grabbagreen in North Florida, announces it has secured the first location for the franchise in the Jacksonville area. The first location of Grabbagreen is scheduled to open at Brooklyn Station in spring of 2017.
The local Grabbagreen is owned by Randy Jeppesen. Jeppesen has owned and operated many successful businesses after a career at Andersen Consulting 15 years ago. Jeppesen is planning additional locations in the Town Center and Jacksonville Beach.
“I’m proud to bring the Grabbagreen lifestyle to Jacksonville and Riverside,” said Jeppesen. “I believe in the offerings and business model and we think this market has an unmet need in this kind of grab-and-go healthy alternative to typical fast food.”
Grabbagreen has signed a five-year lease for a 2,000-sq.-foot location at 90 Riverside Avenue, Suite 603 in the popular Brooklyn Station center, home to Fresh Market. The location is adjacent to Burrito Gallery.
“Anytime we have a new concept entering the market, we need to be very selective in the site selection process, and work closely with the operator, to ensure the first location hits all cylinders,” said Carrie Smith, managing director of retail leasing at Franklin Street’s Jacksonville office. “Grabbagreen will open at Brooklyn Station this March, and we are excited to have a fresh concept join a line-up of market proven brands in a highly sought after-trade area of Jacksonville.”
Founded in 2013, Grabbagreen is a food and juice restaurant where great tasting, healthy food meets the speed and convenience of traditional fast food. Grabbagreen’s food + juice menu is preservative-free, naturally gluten-free and GMO free. The whole food menu is based on super food ingredients and offers a selection of grain and green-based bowls with fresh hormone-free and antibiotic-free proteins provided by local farms, fresh-pressed juice, handcrafted smoothies and acai bowls, breakfast and healthy kid-friendly items. All signature menu items are prepared fresh, made-to-order and provide a delicious experience for customers and a variety of flavors to meet dietary needs.
Childhood friends and mothers, Keely Newman and Kelley Bird, founded Grabbagreen after they discovered it was increasingly difficult to feed their families healthy food on-the-go. The large demand fulfilled an unmet need in the marketplace, growing the concept to three stores in less than two years. In 2015, Newman launched nationwide franchising and since then Grabbagreen has expanded in its first year to awarding 53 franchised units and stores and 180 units across several area-development agreements over the next 10 years. In 2016, over 16 new stores were projected to open in Arizona, Texas, California, North Carolina, Colorado, Idaho, New Jersey and Tennessee and Florida.
