Franklin Street Expands Retail Investment Sales Team in Fort Lauderdale

Mark Behling has joined Franklin Street as a retail investment sales senior associate.

Franklin Street, a full-service commercial real estate firm, has expanded its Fort Lauderdale team by naming Mark Behling as its retail investment sales senior associate. Mr. Behling has over 30 years of experience advising clients on disposition strategies and trends, navigating methods to optimize value, preparing offering memorandums, pricing analysis proposals, and directing marketing campaigns. In his new role, he will specialize on commercial and retail brokerage with a focus on properties in the Fort Lauderdale market and throughout South Florida. During his career in the industry, Mr. Behling has been involved with real estate transactions valued at more than $1 billion.

Most recently, Mr. Behling served as vice president of operations for The Related Group, a leading builder of luxury condominiums and multifamily residences in the U.S. and South America. He was responsible for leading the strategy, acquisition, development efforts and joint ventures for the firm’s operations in Brazil, Mexico and part of the U.S.

As director of commercial real estate at Goldrich and Kest, Mr. Behling provided marketing strategy, acquisitions, disposition and portfolio management for mixed-use, industrial, retail and multifamily properties throughout 17 states. As director of operations at MRA Properties and Consulting, he managed the firm’s real estate and consulting divisions. Mr. Behling also led corporate strategy, sourced and secured financing for Grupo FRISA’s commercial property development operations in the U.S. and Mexico.

Active in the community, Mr. Behling serves on the Board of Directors for the YMCA of South Florida. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Master of Science in Real Estate and an MBA in International Business. He is also a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of Florida.
