JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Commercial real estate firm Franklin Street and its North Florida office have donated $6,000 to fund a scholarship for two siblings with special needs who require financial assistance to attend Daniel Academy in the 2018-2019 school year.
Daniel Academy is a K-6 elementary school operated by Daniel Kids, Florida’s oldest child-serving nonprofit. The academy is designed to meet the needs of children with learning disabilities and emotional challenges through low student-teacher ratios, enriching curriculum and on-site therapy services.
Franklin Street’s scholarship is part of the organization’s commitment to philanthropy. In the last two years, the Jacksonville office has raised a total of almost $10,000 for Daniel Kids. The company hit a fundraising record this year with 100 percent participation from its local team, which earned them even more in corporate matching funds.
In addition to raising money, local Franklin Street employees have spent more than 80 cumulative hours working with teenagers at Daniel Kids, as well as volunteered at the nonprofit’s play days.
Yvonne Baker, regional managing partner for Franklin Street, said her team is excited to continue its ongoing philanthropic partnership with Daniel Kids.
“We are pleased to provide this much-needed funding and support for our favorite local child-serving organization – Daniel Kids,” Baker said. “Our team worked diligently to raise and contribute these funds, and we’re looking forward to the impact it will make. We’re constantly humbled and impressed by the service and care Daniel Kids provides its residents and children in need.”
