Franklin Street brokers $14.8 million sale of Uptown McComb Shopping Center
McComb, Miss. — Franklin Street, a national commercial real estate services firm serving institutional and private clients nationwide, announced it has brokered the $14.8 million sale of Uptown McComb Shopping Center. The 342,000-square-foot property, located at 1722 Veterans Blvd in McComb, Mississippi, was built in 1987 and renovated in 2023-2024. Coastal Equities purchased the center as part of an expansion strategy to acquire best in market centers in secondary and tertiary cities. Franklin Street represented Rockstep Capital, the seller, in the transaction.
“The sale of this regional center continues investors push into smaller markets for centers with best-in-class tenancy,” Bryan Belk, executive managing partner, Franklin Street, said. “The seller turned this aging mall into a dominant regional center with new to market national tenancy, that has become the hub for retail for the trade area.”
The new owner intends to retain the existing national box anchors while introducing additional retailers to drive traffic throughout the corridor and maintain traditional mall tenancy within the interior. The property is currently 96% occupied and features a mix of established national and regional tenants, including Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, Aldi, Bealls, Planet Fitness, Five Below, and Ross Dress for Less. The property’s proximity to a Walmart Supercenter further enhances its visibility and ability to draw from a broad consumer base.
