Signalling it intends to become a bigger player in the office and industrial sector, Tampa-based Franklin Street has recruited two brokers who formerly headed JLL’s Central Florida regional office.

Chris Butler and Chad Rupp have joined the firm as managing directors where they will be responsible for growing the office and industrial services group to complement Franklin Street’s other service lines.

Chad and Chris are well recognized as two of the best in the business. Their addition allows us to execute on plans to grow our office and industrial services division, which will be able to provide clients with a full line of services,” said Franklin Street Managing Partner and CEO Andrew Wright

“We’re joining at a time when the office and industrial sectors are making a big comeback in Florida,” said Rupp. “And while our industry continues to experience consolidation of the larger real estate firms, we anticipate the opportunity for some great talent to become available to recruit to Franklin Street and build a strong team here in Florida.”

The two, who have been partners for more than a decade, were previously managing directors for Jones Lang LaSalle’s Central Florida region that covered Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville and parts of the Florida Panhandle before abruptly departing in August of this year.

Butler and Rupp ran The Staubach Co.’s Tampa office together for seven years and joined Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) when it acquired Staubach in 2008. They first paired up at CLW Real Estate Services Group (acquired by Cassidy Turley). At JLL, they were responsible for a portfolio of more than 5.1 million square feet of office space, as well recruiting and managing a staff of more than 50.

In addition to its Tampa headquarterts, privately held Franklin Street has offices in Atlanta and Jacksonville and Plantation, FL
