Cobb builds strong retail real estate business…

Monetha Cobb never planned for a career in commercial real estate, but a series of opportunities while in her late teens and early 20s led her into the industry. These opportunities may have helped her get her foot in the door, but it has been hard work and determination that has helped her succeed.

Cobb is the president of Franklin Street Real Estate Services’ Retail Tenant Services Group. As the leader of this group, she has guided her team to more than $20 million in closed lease deals in 2012 alone. She has more than 15 years of experience in tenant representation for nationally recognized retailers, focusing on leasing and land brokerage.

“What I do is a small function of what makes a company successful,” Cobb said. “I work with clients who cover 20 states so I am really their eyes and ears in Georgia. The business can change form one minute to the next, depending on who I am working with at the time.”

Christine Gorham, CEO of Eastwood Real Estate Services LLC and Commercial Real Estate Women Atlanta president, met Cobb through CREW. The two have served on the CREW Atlanta board together. Anytime CREW has needed a volunteer to serve, Cobb has stepped up, Gorham said. “Monetha has raised her hand at times when her plate has been overflowing in order to server our organization in a positive light.” Download PDF
