The Exchange has already opened several of its commercial components, including a TopGolf, Andretti Indoor Karting & Games, Sprouts grocery store and about 10 restaurants. About 300 residential units are already leasing, while the rest are currently under construction, said Jeff Fuqua, principal of the namesake firm.
“If people are going to come and hang out at the Exchange, it’s going to continue to attract other developers to draft off of the energy that that new project is bringing,” said Greg Eisenman, senior director of retail tenant services at Franklin Street.
The opening of the mall in 1999 spawned a “halo effect,” in which retailers and other businesses set up shop within close proximity. Fuqua predicted the same for his $350 million project.
