Retail Space at Tampa’s The Morrison Development Fully Leased Ahead of Fall Opening

The retail phase of The Morrison has achieved full occupancy due to a successful “pre-leasing” campaign spearheaded by Franklin Street.

The retail phase of Metis Property Group Inc.’s newly-developed mixed-use complex known as The Morrison, in the heart of South Tampa, has achieved full occupancy due to a successful “pre-leasing” campaign spearheaded by Franklin Street, a full-service, vertically-integrated commercial real estate firm. The development is in the city’s SoHo (South Howard Avenue) corridor and will include 13,890 square feet of retail, 6,950 square feet of office space and 46 residential units.

Franklin Street’s retail leasing team, led by Brian Bern and Ryan Derriman, represented the landlord on an exclusive basis. Franklin Street is handling the leasing and management for the property. Clay Wommack oversees office leasing and Chad Dewald is responsible for the residential component of the project.

The Morrison will introduce several new entries into the market, including Spanish-inspired tapas restaurant Bulla Gastrobar and fast-casual Mediterranean chain Zoe’s Kitchen as signature restaurant tenants. Bulla’s space will feature an 1,800-square-foot rooftop bar. Other notable tenants at the property will include Club Pilates’ second local fitness studio and the Blind Tiger Café, which will mark the coffeehouse chain’s third Tampa Bay area location. All of the listed tenants are expected to open in the third quarter of 2017.

Located at 936 S. Howard Ave at the intersection of South Howard and West Morrison avenues, The Morrison is situated within the Hyde Park neighborhood of Tampa. Hyde Park offers a walkable village and proximity to popular shopping, dining and entertainment venues.
