Job Description

Franklin Street is currently seeking a Creative Director to join our Marketing Team in Tampa, FL. 

The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field of study or 10+ years working as a professional designer.  A strong and consistent portfolio of design demonstrating deep understanding of typography, color, and layout is required.

Essential Functions:

  • Directs creative work to ensure work is delivered on time, on budget, and to a high-quality standard.
  • Acts as a source of knowledge and ideas for all things creative, providing value-added insights on how to represent Franklin Street to the public. Consistently delivers fresh ideas and designs to support strategic campaigns across, digital advertising, print advertising and email platforms.
  • Continually researches and understands the latest design trends of UI/UX through market and customer research and maintains website relevancy to industry competitors. Consistently seeks opportunities for personal and professional skill development to assist in providing services to grow the brand.
  • Communicates clearly & ensures deadlines are met for all projects.
  • Evolves the initial creative brief from concept into creation, collaborating with team members to execute impactful messaging backed by on-brand design.  Obtains all project details for each creative job request, including content, call to action, inspiration images, project parameters and due date.
  • Creates and oversees Franklin Street’s branding guidelines, acting as internal champion of brand standards across offices.
  • Oversees Franklin Street’s website, including managing any third-party web services providers, updating all imagery and creative maintaining brand integrity and messaging.
  • Oversees graphic team and guides them to create and provide templated designs for marketing materials across business lines such as collateral, digital assets, signage, email, video templates and various other materials.
  •  Directs creative deliverables behind innovative marketing initiatives such as podcasts and video series.
  • Oversees and directs all designs & coordination for exhibit booths and dynamic collateral for events and trade shows.
  • Maintains a network of local and national printers and vendors to assist with Franklin Street-hired projects.
  •  Direct and support storyboarding various videos and, at times, direct photo/video shoots.
  • Manages development of all creative assets including digital (web & social), print (brochures, sell sheets), trade show support, photography, and video.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to organize use of time on deadline-driven efforts, exercise sound judgment and work in a self-directed manner.
  • Identifies problems, provides solutions, and implements changes as necessary to ensure creative services are effectively delivered.
  • Extensive experience in the following programs and a willingness and ability to learn new software programs:
  • Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and/or Premier)
  • WordPress
  • Social Media Scheduling Software such as Sprout or HootSuite
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Prezi
  • Adept at project management with the ability to handle multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and turn projects around quickly.
  • Extremely strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically; ability to conceptualize and execute projects.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changes quickly; always willing to roll up sleeves and get things done.
  • Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills who works well within a team and independently as needed.
  • Consistently displays a high level of ownership, attention to detail, self-motivation, initiative and follow through with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field of study or 10+ years working as a professional designer.
